February 1: Still got a little snow up here, but roads are clear.
We just rode our motorcycles to run errands in Weaverville.
Fishing has remained really good and guests who left today reported
lots of wild steelhead!
All of our cabins now have a 3 month availability calendar on the Lodging page.

We have three locations and two names:
Trinity River Adventure Inn's
cabins are in two locations on the upper Trinity River near Lewiston and Douglas City.
We feature year-round fishing; river and lake kayaking and rafting; hiking; birding; wine tasting and lots more.
Alpine Fish & Ski Haus is in Dunsmuir near Mount Shasta.

Where do two sea captains go after working on the ocean with whales & dolphins, being featured on National Geographic,
and several more lifetimes of adventures? For Heidi Tiura and Steph Dutton, the answer is Trinity County.
Check out our cabins below, or go to our Lodging page for full details.

Check out our newsletter here. The newsletter often includes special offers; it goes out sporadically and we keep your address private. Email us to sign up for our newsletter.
We also created this marvelous ocean business: Sanctuary Cruises Whale Watching on Monterey Bay

Our Bucktail location for the Sow's Ear cabin is 3 miles from Lewiston. It is less than a minute's walk to the Trinity,
our 600+ feet of shoreline and fishing. Bucktail Hole is an easy 5 minute walk from Sow's Ear.
The Steel Bridge location is 6 miles away; it has 4 cabins on the Trinity.
It's got a productive salmon hole and steelhead riffles along its shoreline.
Just 45 minutes west of Redding, we are perfectly positioned for fishers, kayakers, hikers and people who want to kick back and relax.

Dunsmuir Alpine Ski & Fish Haus
Steph and I got the idea to get a place in Dunsmuir because we enjoy skiing Shasta so much. Since a lot of our guests at our river cabins on the Trinity come to fish, and we know they also fish the Upper Sac, we figured those two sports would make Dunsmuir a natural for another vacation rental.

Dunsmuir Accommodations

Alpine Fish & Ski Haus has 3 bedrooms; 2 bathrooms; a full laundry room; mud room for fishing and ski gear;
lots of space for gear; a wonderful kitchen; and a nice & private patio and yard.
There is a stairway at the front that leads to the mud room and main floor with living, kitchen, dining, master bedroom
(with the trout lights!) and full bathroom. At street level, there is another door that leads to the tiled entry, two bedrooms, laundry
room and second full bath.

This house is set up very nicely for a maximum of 6 guests, who can all sleep in separate beds.
It has a four poster queen bed with trout lights dancing around the canopy frame, an antique wrought iron and brass double bed,
a double futon, a day bed and a trundle bed. The day bed and trundle can be set up together making a king-sized bed.
Dunsmuir is a fun place to stay while fishing the Upper Sacramento River; skiing, boarding or climbing Mount Shasta;
exploring Siskiyou County; and discovering Dunsmuir itself.
We offer free late checkouts on Sundays for weekend skiers, fishers & visitors!

Kid & Dog-Friendly Lodging & Adventures
"I loved it! I especially liked the fast water parts!”
Miles Johnson, age 10

It takes a special touch to introduce kids to paddling or hiking, or dogs to kayaking, and we do it well. Whether it's picking blackberries on a kayak trip or running the gentle rapids with your four-legged best friend, everyone has a good time.
Well-behaved, friendly dogs are welcome at all of our cabins; same goes for the kids. Click here for Adventures.
"I recommend this inn to any adventureist who may have kids or dogs."
Tara Roddy/Santa Cruz, CA
